The Global Adventure for Nature Conservation Exchange Program or GLANCE will bring global participants to have a quick but close encounter to the pristine ecosystem and diverse culture of the Puerto Princesa City, Palawan- home of one of the eight World Heritage Sites and the gateway to Palawan, the last ecological frontier of the Philippines.

The whole province is a declared UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve (MAB). The Birdlife International included the Palawan as an Endemic Bird Area (EBA). Palawan EBA is an important bird migration route and home to twenty endemic birds.

The GLANCE aimed at bringing environmental enthusiasts to unique and rich biodiversity areas to have a quick look but closer understanding of the issues and status, and the role of the local communities. These biodiversity areas include community-managed and national protected areas such as fish sanctuaries, underground river, watershed, coral reefs and mangroves.

The Palawan Conservation Corps (PCC) launched the GLANCE program with three main objectives:

1) To promote the different conservation initiatives in Puerto Princesa City;

2) To educate the global “adventurer” about the local biodiversity and lastly;

3) To get support for the sustainability of these conservation programs.

The schedules of the Glance program for this year will be on April 14-25 and June 16-27. Activities include discussions, community visits, fun games, swimming, snorkeling, jamming and other fun but educational.

Expectations from the participants:

 willing to learn and experience different cultures and new challenges

 Love for nature
